The Aboriginal Procurement Tool Kit Webinar is a knowledge sharing exercise that was designed to bring together updated information surrounding the challenges and successes that Aboriginal businesses, leaders, and organizations are facing when it comes to creating sustainable procurement and contract related strategies. This includes the challenges and successes that have been involved in the bidding of contracts at the government, industry and corporate sectors. This FREE webinar was open to any Aboriginal business owners, Aboriginal leaders (including their departments and organizations), new or future Aboriginal entrepreneurs as well as any other interested party from any industry/government/private/corporate sector that is interested in contributing to the development of this tool and/or gain a better understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal business owners and communities across Canada. The webinar was approximately 1 hour in length and included two live video feeds of the presenters (Mr. John Kor, Director of I DO BUSINESS. from Ontario, as well as Mr. Robert Bernard, President/CEO of Diversity Management Group (DMG), an Aboriginal owned consulting firm from Nova Scotia). The webinar will be available online. It started with introductions, a brief overview of the project history as well as a presentation on some of the proposed strategies that Aboriginal business owners, community leaders and industry/corporate/private sector companies can utilize to help maximize on Aboriginal inclusion in terms of contracting and procurement strategy development.
